Since
its
creation by the industrial and visionary
Ernest Solvay a hundred years ago,
the Solvay Business School (SBS)
has always been close to the business
world and its needs.
Over the past 30
years, 13,000 managers have followed
our Executive Education programmes,
and today 500 faculty members teach
each year more than 1,000 executives
from more than 50 countries.
Over time, we have
developed a large portfolio of Executive
Education Programmes to give managers
essential insights into international
business, and the managers who complete
the programmes go on to contribute
to boosting the global performance
of the organisations that have invested
in them.
The Solvay Business School has established
capabilities in all business disciplines.
Today we are running more than 30
programmes, from general management
programmes to more specialised courses,
in Belgium and around the world. They
offer benefits for all levels of management,
from junior to top managers, and cover
all areas of business.
Taking programmes
at our Business School helps individuals
and organisations to build new capacities,
learn new skills and develop new networks.
Our services are
based on four core values:
1) The continuous
updating of our programmes to match
and anticipate corporate
needs
We maintain close links with
the
business world and its realities.
The vast
majority of our faculty are major
personalities in the Belgian
and international
business world. Our programmes
are continuously reviewed and
renewed,
and new programmes are launched
every year (six in 2003-2004)
in order to
anticipate and respond to management
education needs.
2) A unique
way to learn
Over the past 30 years, we have developed
real expertise in providing the cutting
edge knowledge that brings theory
to life and can be employed immediately
for a competitive advantage. Our courses
develop leaders through in-depth conceptual
approach and practical delivery, case
studies, seminars and group work and
exchange of experience.
3) Leading
knowledge in all fields of management
Today we have 15 specialised research
centres with more than 50 researchers
working across all fields of management
to generate important new ideas that
will help to transform real management
practices. Translating this research
into action is at the core of our
programmes for helping executives
to succeed in the face of constant
change and increasing complexity.
4) Multiculturalism
The diversity of cultures and backgrounds
of our faculty and students is underpinned
by our location in Brussels, the European
hub for the international community.
It involves accommodating different
cultures, practicing tolerance and
discovering new ways of doing things.
