IT Management Education brochure
The Executive Master in IT Management (EMI) is an in-depth course comprising of 12 modules of 30 hours (360 hours of evening classes). Aimed at ambitious current and future IT and Business Managers, the 12 modules can be completed in one single year or spread over two years. The Executive Master brings a wealth of knowledge to motivated participants and delivers an internationally recognized qualification.

The Executive Master in IT Management Degree is delivered after:
  • Attendance of the 12 modules (minimum course participation of 70%).
  • Successfully passing the exams in each module.
  • Completing a dissertation.

In addition to the degree, each participant can be granted a special mention for specialization in one of the following options:

  • “Governance, Risk & Compliance” (modules G2-A3-S3)
  • “IT Assurance and Compliance” (modules A1-A2-A3)
  • “Information Security Management” (modules S1-S2-S3)

A special mention is awarded after successfully passing the exams in each of the three modules in a chosen option with over 75%, and by writing a dissertation in the related domain.

The EMI is composed of twelve 30hrs-modules:

General modules

G1 - IT Management Practices

Practical review of IT management activities including the role of the CIO, strategy, governance, PMO, performance management and vendor management.

G2 - IT Process Management

Governance, Control and Audit of IT and related technologies based on the CobiT framework, including Management guidelines for IT processes and case study work in groups.

G3 - IT Professional Soft Skills

IT professionals require, in addition to their managerial and technical skills, some soft skills essential to bring the necessary leadership through communication, negotiation, creative thinking.



IT Management modules

M1 - Applications and e-Business Management

Basic principles for the development of Applications and e-Business systems. This module addresses security issues, implementation methodologies, and presentation of usual technical platforms.

M2 - IT Legislations and IT Forensics

Overview of e-Business and IT related laws, and IT Forensics practice and tools.

M3 - IT Resources and Service Management: ITIL

Workshop based on the de facto standard ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library). The course focuses on ITIL v2 and ITIL v3 essentials.


Audit modules

A1 - Internal and IT Audit Practices

Internal and IT Audit principles, organisation and standards, including the review of governance and compliance (prepares for CISA) 

A2 - Enterprise Architecture and Risk

Enterprise Architecture; Project and Enterprise risk management (CobiT-Risk). ERP Implementation Review, Application Controls and Audit of data.

A3 - IT Audit Workshop

Participants, in groups of 2 to 4, identify a specific IT audit environment or a new technology. They assess business benefits driving its use, produce a risk assessment, and finally develop a complete audit programme to distribute and to present to the entire class.



Security modules

S1 - IT Infrastructure and Security

Basic and advanced knowledge of information and communication Technology describing major elements components.

S2 - Information Security Technology and Practices

Course material is based on the topics of the common body of knowledge required for CISSP certification (Certified Information Systems Security Professional). Subject matter practitioners address the ten knowledge domains.

S3 - Information Security Management and Standards

Based on the topics of the common body of knowledge required for CISM (Certified Information Security Manager). Subject matter practitioners address the five knowledge domains.
