The
objective of the course is
to provide an introduction to the
economic, business and management
issues in the context of evolving
European environment with a special
emphasis on EU policies in various
areas and its implications for successful
business strategies.
Attention
will be given both to "hard" and "soft"
issues including cross-cultural management,
organizational change and strategy
implementation.
The
course covers a variety of
subjects in the area of European business:
EU Financial Integration, Cross Cultural
Management, Competition and Integration of Stock Exchanges in Europe, Eurobranding, Globalisation Strategy, European Competition Policy, , etc.
This
will be complemented by visits to
any of the following: European Commission
and Belgia/foreign companies
located in Belgium. Visits will
be led by the SBS staff, or members
of the host organisation.
The
course will use a wide variety
of teaching methods and approaches
including short lectures, case discussions,
group work, questions/answers sessions
and visits to various institutional
and companies sites.
The
assessment will be based
on an individual case project.
