BESMaC > Positioning PRINT THIS PAGE

  • Globalisation requires more synergies and interfaces between all the stakeholders involved in a smooth development of sport.

The positioning of the BESMaC

Within the ULB as an incubator of new resources, notably to the profit of existing or developing academic  branches.

In Belgium, complementing existing initiatives within the dynamics of Europe’s capital.

At a European level, as a generator of projects like those requested by the European Commission, which particularly target inter-university synergies.

On the ‘executive management’ training market, in contrast to traditional « sports’ Master education, which targets ‘middle management’.

Opportunities

A privileged situation in the Capital of Europe

BESMaC has an enormous edge regarding its resources and opportunities:

  • The proximity of the European Institutions, international sports entities and European corporate bodies.
  • ULB resources within the ISEPK (Higher Institute of Physical Education and Physiotherapy) and other faculties.
  • Opportunities for synergy with the VUB.
  • Opportunities for synergy with other university centres and European and Belgian researchers, as well as with sports management entities, notably the Belgian Interfederal Olympic Committee.
  • The willingness of public bodies to professionalise sports management and evaluate the economic impact of sporting events.
  • The growing demand from institutions and companies for academic validation.
  • The hosting of the European Masters in the Management of Sports Organisations (MEMOS.)
