Macroeconomics in the Global Economy (MBA, PT)

Business firms operate within an economic environment that significantly influences their performance. Interest rates, exchange rates, monetary and fiscal policy, inflation, unemployment and the stock market are all part of the decision process, both for firms and for consumers. The recent global financial crises and the debates on the virtues of globalization remind us how important the macroeconomic environment is for companies, in their investment decisions, their strategic approach, and their profitability.
The goal of the course is to build an understanding of the mechanisms that determine the macroeconomic environment. The course studies growth, business cycles, inflation, unemployment, financial crises, as well as the role and limitations of economic policy.

Advanced Trade and Development (PhD)
