Executive Programme in Enterprise and IT Architecture

Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management delivers executive education in various areas related to IT Management. A one-year education programme covers both theory and practice in a variety of areas leading to an Executive Programme in Enterprise and IT Architecture.

Academic requirements encompass 6 modules for a total of 144 hours via two evening classes, typically completed over the course of one year.

Designed for Enterprise and IT Architects, Senior Project Managers and Business Process Managers, this programme delivers essential knowledge and skills in IT Management and Business Agility.

Enterprise Architecture enables business strategy when supported by organisational change through adequate business transformation (lectured in module B2). It requires sound enterprise architecture management practices (lectured in module B1) and is based on an agile and innovative digital business platforms (module B3).

Enterprise architects need to master application development practices (lectured in module M1) as well as operations and services management (lectured in module M2). Sourcing management (module M3) is an essential skill in co-sourcing environments.

The body of knowledge is delivered through lectures, workshops, case discussions, group work and personal essays, as well as via the participant Intranet system containing electronic documents, shared links, and all presentation material. Cutting-edge knowledge is also disseminated by guest speakers (all experts in their chosen field), topic leaders, and peer participants.

Participants who successfully complete this Executive Programme are entitled to study for the Executive Master in IT Management, which requires an additional year to complete and is taught via two evening classes per week.

Lectured topics are grouped in six modules within the following tracks:

          

Jan-March

Principles of Application Management Practices, including Organization, architecture, development methods, governance, security, deployment and technical foundations.

Apr-June

Develops the skills for operations and service managers by delivering ITIL, ISO 20000 skills and other operation-related knowledge. The module also provides preparation for the ITIL foundation exam.

Sept-Dec

Principles for sourcing management, including procurement and sourcing frameworks (eSCM) with practical, hands-on application: Vendor Management, Human resources management and skills frameworks (including SFIA). 

     
         

Jan-March

Develop insights in the practices, skills and key success factors of Enterprise Architecture within the Corporate Strategy context and across the various layers. Learn how Enterprise and ICT Architects bridge the problem and solution domains, and how current technology trends like cloud, big data and mobile impact the Enterprise Architecture.

Apr-June

Develop skills for business enablement, including Transformation and Change Enablement, Project and Programme Management and Business Process improvement practices.

Sept-Dec

Changing the digital technology paradigm by seeking business and IT agility, by innovating through new technology and by building sound platform layers.

Acceptance Interview

This interview is designed to assess your ability to attend the intended education and to guide you in making the most suitable choices for your current activities and needs. Prepare carefully and make sure any additional queries you may have are answered.

 

Certificate delivered

At the end of your education, you will receive a certificate of Executive Education issued by the Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management. The certificate is awarded to the participant who:

- Has an overall average of 60% for the whole education and has passed all the exams (above 50%)
- Present his/her close-down assignment (Executive Summary)
Attend at least 70% of the overall lectured programme
