Welcome to the European Microfinance Programme (EMP), the first of its kind in Europe. With a 30 year track record, microfinance has developed into an effective tool which poor people can use to escape the vicious cycle of poverty and helplessness.
Launched in 2005, the EMP is the first microfinance programme organized by three European universities, in Belgium, France and The Netherlands. The EMP is taught in English and offers the combined expertise of academics and practitioners from non-governmental organizations, such as PlaNet Finance, SOS Faim, CERISE, ...
The one-year EMP is dedicated to students who want to complete a specialisation in microfinance and acquire expertise by working in a developing country. It provides students with a multidisciplinary approach to the challenges and opportunities facing the microfinance sector today. |
