Académie Universitaire Wallonie-Bruxelles
The 8th of June 2004, the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB), the Université de Mons (UM) and the Faculté polytechnique de Mons (FPMs) decided to associate themselves to create the "Académie Universitaire Wallonie-Bruxelles".
The Academy represents, for the partner institutions, an opportunity to reinforce the partnerships already existing. It also aims at becoming a key-actor in the intellectual, social and economical development of the region where the partner institutions are located.
The objective of the Academy is to acquire a greater visibility at the international level. In that perspective, the Academy is developing new partnerships with the University of Lille and of Valenciennes in north of France.

Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management (Université Libre de Bruxelles) is a complete centre of learning. The Faculté Warocqué is the Business School of the UM (Université de Mons). It was created in 1899 and has always had a strong interest in international studies. It provides various bachelors and masters degrees in business education and has been one of the first academic centers in Belgium to develop research in microfinance. It is one of the partners of the Solvay Business School in the Doctoral School in Management Studies.
