II. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Candidates applying for the EMP via the Académie Universitaire Wallonie-Bruxelles (Master Complémentaire Conjoint en Microfinance), should read the General information document.
All candidates must fulfill the following requirements:
Academic degree
- a Master's degree (or "Licence") diploma issued by a Belgian University OR
- a Master's degree (second cycle diploma, 5 years)/
a diploma equivalent to 300 ECTS.
Diploma should have been obtained at recognized academic insitutions in the disciplines of develop-ment cooperation, economics, agronomy, management or finance. Exceptionally, other qualifications may be accepted.
Field experience in developing countries is highly valued.
English language proficiency
As the EMP is taught in English, candidates must proof their spoken and written command of English. Qualifications accepted as evidence of English proficiency are:
- Native speakers: (USA, UK, AUS, NZL, IRL, CAN (Engl)):
no proof needed
- Applicants from anglophone countries: candidates having completed their studies in English, must provide a confirmation by their University.
- All other candidates:
TOEFL: paper-based 550, computer-based 213, internet-based 79-80
IELTS: min. score of 6.0
Cambridge First Certificate (FCE): pass at grade C or above
Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE): pass at grade C or above
If candidates from developing countries fulfill all admission requirements but can only provide a B1 English level (according to the CEFR), the EMP Jury will still take these applications into account.

III. ADMISSION PROCESS
STEP 1: Introduce ULB Admission Request
All candidates must introduce an ULB Admission request:
European citizens: ULB Admission Request available here
Applicants with diploma issued by a Belgian University: option "accès conditionnel";
ULB Acceptation Form available here
Non-European citizens: ULB Admission Request available here (deadline 30 April 2010)
The ULB Admission request must be attached to the EMP Application Form (see below).
STEP 2: Submission of application file to the EMP
All candidates are asked to submit:
- The ULB Admission Request + all required documents (see last page of Admission Request)
- the EMP Application Form 2010-11
- copies of all diplomas and transcript of records
- copies of language certificate/ proof of English skills

IV. FEES & FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
Registration Fees
The ULB registration fees for the academic year 2010-11 is € 837 for European citizens and citizens of selected developing countries. The fees for other nationalities are subject to ULB policies and can be inquired directly at the ULB Inscription Service.
Students inscribed in one of the three participating universities (Académie Wallonie-Bruxelles, Université Paris-Dauphine, Wageningen Universiteit) will have access to the programme at the respective fees set by each of these institutions. Taking part in the EMP does not automatically grant any financial support. Any request for scholarships must be introduced to the home university, according to its internal rules.
Scholarships of the Commission Universitaire pour le developpement (CUD)
Each year, 12 full scholarships are awarded to EMP candidates coming from selected developing countries. These scholarships cover the tuition fees, some basic living expenses in Brussels and one return plane ticket.
