The staff of the EMP is the following :

  • Miriam Lemmens studied translation at the Erasmus Hogeschool Brussel. She is coordinating the EMP.

  • Gabriele Merli studied law and political sciences at the ULB. He is in charge of the communication and the organisation of events related to the EMP’s activities.

  • Annabel Vanroose is a fellow researcher at the Vrij Universiteit Brussel. She is currently doing a joint PhD on microfinance at the Solvay Business School (ULB) and the Vrij Universiteit Brussels. She is in charge of organising the internships for the students following the EMP.

The teaching assistants are :

  • Sylvie Fanta holds a Masters degree in Philosophy (ULB) and a Diploma of Advanced Studies (DES) in Business Management (ULB). She is also a graduate of the European Microfinance Programme (EMP) and is currently a PhD student in management sciences at Solvay Business School (ULB). Her research interest focuses on an anthropological and philosophical approach to microfinance in developing countries.  Ms. Fanta has extensive field experience in Ethiopia where she studied the importance of traditional economic systems in microfinance programmes.

  • Arnaud Gillin is Consultant for Symbiotics Luxembourg, a microfinance investment intermediation company.  Arnaud holds a M.Sc. in Management from UCL, IAG. He worked previously as Project Manager in Risk Management for Banque de Luxembourg, Business Consultant for Accenture and Credit Analyst for BNP Paribas Luxembourg. He attended the EMP in 2006 and focused his thesis on microcredit securitization through an internship at Al Amana, Morocco.
