Description of the Institution
MicroCred Madagascar was inaugurated in December 2006 and six months later they have attained a portfolio of over 2000 clients and opened three agencies in the capital. For the moment the aim is to finance small and medium size enterprises generally excluded from the banking sector and hence contribute to the local economical development. MicroCred Madagascar will soon obtain the legal status of a bank which entails that they will be allowed to collect savings; this new project will be launched in October later this year. Within shortly the institution is also planning to develop a micro-insurance product and open agencies in five other provinces within the coming five years although remaining focused on urban microfinance.

Created in 1997, Al Amana is a microcredit association operating in Morocco. Its mission is to participate to social integration and economic development through microfinance services delivery and promotion of microenterprises, in order to contribute to the improvement of the working and living conditions of its clients and to the promotion of its skills. Al Amana wants to play a significant role into the extension of financial services to the whole Moroccan population that is, in majority, excluded from the traditional banking sector because of their lack of financial resources. Consequently, Al Amana provides microfinance services in urban but also, increasingly, in rural areas, in the form of loans for the development of economic activities and for the financing of housing. The goal of Aquadev is fighting against the broad notion of South inequalities. The partners belong mainly to social groups that have weaker chances to improve their well being than other ones having organized the social life at their own profit.
They are three main sectors: the microfinance (decentralized financial sector and support to the small and medium businesses), the nutritional security improvement (according to a planning and a multisectorial approach, including for example a support to the decentralization process) and the environment in urban environment (directed towards the planning and the water cleaning up).
