  Thesis IMPRIMER CETTE PAGE

The thesis is a considerable work requested at the end of the EMP. A thesis is a proof of the student’s capacity to conduct independent research on a defined topic. The thesis should enable students to apply the theoretical concepts and approaches acquired during the study and broaden their knowledge and experience regarding the application of analytical tools and methods.

This work must present some original aspects from existing studies on the topic. Thesis submitted should be original contributions, not previously published or used for any EMP assignments.

The thesis is an important element of the EMP training. Through the writing and the oral presentation, the student must show his ability and understanding of microfinance issues.

Related to this, the internship is an integral part of the programme. Apart from obtaining work and/or research experience, it enables students to get acquainted with the living and working conditions in development countries. During this period (2 to 4 months), students are required to participate in ongoing work of the Microfinance Institution. Usually the student also conducts a small research on a specific topic.

Past thesis are organized by continent. Please select one in the menu at the left. For some of the thesis, an abstract is available (simply click on the thesis title). If you are interested in the full thesis, please contact the staff of the EMP.
