“Interuniversity Attraction Poles” (or IAP) aim to increase joint contribution to general scientific advances and to international scientific networks. Through this programme, the Belgian Science Policy Office (BELSPO) funds some 500 researchers and over 2000 publications.

André Sapir, Professor at Solvay Brussels School of Economics & Management, was elected as a member of the Royal Academy of Belgium. André Sapir will join the Technology & Society Class.

The ceremony welcoming new members will take place on Saturday 12th of May at the Palais des Académies.

The three french-speaking business schools, Solvay Brussels School, Louvain School of Management and HEC-ULG, in collaboration with Trans-mutation (summer university), launch LeaderSchool.

The first seminar will tackle Leadership with the theme: "Stability in the Storm: The Evolving Role of Leadership".

Professor in Mathematical Economics at Ecares (SBS-EM) & Professor in Statistics at KULeuven, Bram De Rock is going to be awarded the 2012 Research Council Award for his work in the Humanities and Social Science Group of KUL.

The Research Council awards ceremony will take place on 25th of May.

Each year, KU Leuven awards promising researchers to recognise and stimulate their output.
