The Royal Academy of Belgium organises a 3-day conference around the title "The ideology of progress in the maelstrom of postmodernism". Alain Eraly, past President of the School and several other ULB faculty member will participate in the debates.

The event will take place on the 9, 10 and 11th of February 2012.

Solvay Brussels School of Economics & Management (SBS-EM) is proud to announce the nomination of M. Bruno van Pottelsberghe as Faculty Dean. M. van Pottelsberghe will be helped in his mandate by the vice-Dean, Michel Verstraeten.  The duo was elected in June after Deanery elections. They will assume these new functions starting today officially.

Earlier this summer, Mathias Dewatripont stepped of his responsabilities as first Dean of the Solvay Brussels School to join the Board of Directors of the National Bank of Belgium. This new mandate started on the 18th of May 2011 and will run for 6 years.

A study by SBS-EM faculty Kim Oosterlinck and Ariane Szafarz was used by FT investment editor James Mackintosh to illustrate his report entitled "Buying when blood is in the streets."
