Peter Praet becomes Economist in Chief for the ECB

School alumni and affiliated faculty member, Peter Praet has been named Economist in Chief for the European Central Bank.

Praet, a former executive director of the National Bank of Belgium and chief of staff to Belgium's finance minister, has been on the ECB's executive board since June 2011. He takes over from Jürgen Stark who resigned earlier this year.
