Short bio
After a PhD in Management Science from the Université libre de Bruxelles, Carine Peeters joined the Fuqua School of Business, Duke University, as a senior researcher to help launch the Offshoring Research Network. In 2006 she became lead partner of the network for Belgium. Carine’s research on the globalization of services centers on the learning process, development of organizational capabilities and evolution of firm boundaries associated with adoption and diffusion of global sourcing practices, with a particular focus on the offshoring and international outsourcing of advanced and innovative activities. She has surveyed the practices of hundreds of companies around the world and worked on several in depth case studies of organizations as they were reorganizing their value chain through offshoring and rethinking their business model and strategy in the light of growing globalization of services. Through workshops and trainings she also works closely with executives and managers to develop and share knowledge on successful offshoring strategies and management practices. Carine has co-authored several articles in leading international journals including Journal of International Business Studies and Organization Science, and is a member of several academic associations. She is also member of the editorial board of the Global Strategy Journal. In 2010 she joined the Board of the European Outsourcing Association in Belgium.
