Bernard is the Academic Director in charge of the Solvay Lifelong Learning Advanced Master in Financial Markets (AMFM), a one-year evening classes postgraduate programme in finance attracting each year 30 to 40 participants from 20+ nationalities, recent graduates and young professionals.

  • The AMFM is designed to help develop knowledge and an entirely new skill set: a strong understanding of market practices, financial techniques, risk management and the new regulatory environment, with courses given by an exceptional cast of senior practitioners
  • The AMFM programme fits the needs of recent graduates and young professionals willing to know how the financial markets operate in practice, to connect with and be lectured by senior practitioners, to enjoy dynamic interactions in small and diverse classes, and going for their dream job in financial markets and services, more options, and a faster track
  • Senior Advisor open for interim management, advisory, and independent director assignments. He recently advised Integrale, a distressed life insurance company under the supervision of the National Bank of Belgium, as finance and investment director ad interim. He capitalises on 25+ years’ experience as senior banking and insurance executive with BNP Paribas, Axa, Credit Suisse and Arthur D. Little.
  • Seed investor and advisor to scaleups and start-ups, including several fintech companies. He focuses on advising and mentoring impact and tech executive teams on strategy, finance, and partnerships. He is affiliated with Be Angels, a business angel network based in Brussels.

Involvement in charities

 

Bernard is an Adjunct Professor of Finance at Solvay Lifelong Learning and Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management (ULB), a Guest Lecturer at Université Paris Dauphine-PSL and at Conservatoire national des arts et métiers (Cnam, Paris).

His topics of interest include sustainable finance, financial markets and services, innovation in finance and emerging use cases relating to blockchain and digital assets.

He is open to steering panels at business conferences and events in line with his topics of interest.
