Jean Luc De Meulemeester (born 1965) studied Economics (MA, 1987), History (BA, 1990) and Econometrics (MA, 1991) at ULB.  He began his career at the Institute of Sociology (1990-97), while doing his PhD in Economics (PhD, 1996).  He spent a year at the Royal Military Academy (1992-93) and was a Wiener-Anspach Postdoctoral researcher at the University of Oxford (1997-98).  He is professor at ULB since 1999.  He wrote scientific papers on economics of education and economic history, while contributing to several newspapers (Belgian and foreign). He was co-editor of Cliometrica (Springer) from 2007 to 2017.  He is now working at CEBRIG.
